The findings of this thesis contributes to research and the clinical setting by showing that treatment of a TIA and prevention of future TIA or stroke should focus on the prevention of platelet activation that could prevent to the formation of an abnormal fibrin network and a pathological thrombus.

Los hallazgos de esta investigación contribuyen a la investigación y al entorno clínico al mostrar que el tratamiento de un ataque isquémico transitorio (sigla AIT) y la prevención de dicho AIT o bien de un futuro accidente cerebrovascular, deberían centrarse en la prevención de la activación plaquetaria que podría prevenir la formación de una red de fibrina anormal y un trombo patológico.
